NATIONAL VBMA MEETING
The National Meeting in Orlando, Florida is an annual gathering of national officers, regional leaders, and chapter officers from all 40 VBMA chapters. Students get together to discuss ways to improve the organization by enhancing the business certificate program curriculum, increasing membership, and sharing strengths and successes of individual chapters.
Every January, we send our officers to represent OSU, exchange ideas with other chapters, and relay new information about the VBMA on a national level. We are always seeking to better our chapter to help prepare students for the challenges that will face them as a new graduate and beyond. OREGON VETERINARY CONFERENCE
Veterinary students receive free admission to the annual Oregon Veterinary Conference (OVC), a collaboration between the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) and the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Every year, SCAVMA puts on a reception at the conference to encourage student and veterinarian interaction. This is an amazing opportunity for students to network with veterinary professionals from across the state in different fields of veterinary medicine. You can practice your communication skills, plan externships, ask for advice about being a new graduate, or potentially get a job.
Additionally, senior veterinary students have the chance to schedule interviews with potential employers at the conference.
